Our 2010 Christmas market brought many visitors who enjoyed the ambiance of a European-style outdoor market.

2010 Trip to Leavenworth

In November 2010 the German Club chartered a bus for an over-night trip to Leavenworth. The charm of the Bavarian theme, the snow dusted mountains, the authentic german food and accordeon music helped get all our members in the mood for Germany and in the mood for the pre-Christmas season.

On 22 May 2010, our German Club celebrated a Mayfest at the Mt. Hyak Berghaus. The Enzian Schuhplattler group entertained us, the Bavarian Corner Restaurant catered the delicious food, we enjoyed coffee and cake, a silent auction and raffle with great prizes, and had fun in the evening with skits, musik and dancing.

Olympia Ethnic Celebration 2010

On 6 February our German Club managed the food concession for the Olympia Ethnic Festival at the Washington center for the Performing Arts. We served hundereds of pretzels, sausages and many pounds of Sauerkraut. Our volunteers and club members worked very hard and also had lots of fun.

Arts Walk Fundraiser 2009

Olympia Arts Walk 24-25 April 2009: We sold sausage, Curry Wurst, sauerkraut, pretzles and donated home baked goods. The club made $650.00 for the Christkindlmarket project. It was a fun experience. Thanks for the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers and our supporters.

First Olympia Christkindlmarket 2009

On 30 November 2009, our German Club held Olympia's first annual Christkindlmarkt. Considering that we only had one booth from which we sold hot drinks, custom ceramic mugs and baked treats, our event was a huge success. We lovingly built and decorated our market booth and had lots of fun representing the idea of a European Chrtistmas Market to the Olympia public.
